Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Angadikadavu marks a thunder victory in the intercollegiate tug of war championship held at Govinda Pai Memorial Government College, Manjeswaram. For the first time in the history of Don Bosco, the women's team bagged the championship title. The Men's team retained the second position. 12 students (6 Men, 6 Women) selected form our college for the University selection camp.


Adding another feather to the cap of Don Bosco arts and science college, Angadikadavu, Jyothika George from Third year B.Com has been selected in the Kerala team for National Tug of war tournament which was held on 29th July, 2019


Fr. Dr. Francis Karackat, Principal Don Bosco Arts and Science College Angadikadavu was elected for the Msgr. C J Varky Memorial Shalom Media Award, given by the Catholic church for, the best writer of the year. The award consists of rupees 25,000, citation and momentum. Church president Kardinal Mar Baseleos Kliimis Catholic Bava presented the award in the function held at Peruvannamoozhi. Fr. Dr. Francis Karackat is also the chief of editor of Don Bosco Magazine.


The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers at Don Bosco Arts and Science College conducted a rain walk on 07-07-2019 to experience nature and its variants. The team visited Chettayi Para, a breath taking waterfall near Vaniyapara. ‘Our main aim was to know about the nature and to get insight on how to improve immunity and resist illness, said Nithin Kuttan , Head of Physical Education Department. 73 volunteers joined the walk with the assistance of Ms Jisha, faculty of English Department.


NSS students stage a flash mob on Anti Drugs Day in major towns on 26th June, 2019


To celebrate the International Yoga Day (21-06-20109), the National Service Scheme organised a special program which was inaugurated by Sanju. M, District President, Art of Living. Fr. Dr. K.O Thomas (Rector and Manager) gave speech about the importance of being healthy and how yoga helped him to maintain a healthy life style.70 volunteers participated in the program which was coordinated by Ms Jisha and Mr Nithin Kuttan


On the occasion of reading day in Kerala (June 19th ), the department of English organised a quiz competition to foster the importance of reading among the students. First position was bagged by the students from English department followed by the journalism department. Congratulations to the winners.


‘An act of kindness, no matter how small, to never wasted’. This creates an exact foundation to the extension program organized by M.Com students on 20-06-2019. The first and second year students accompanied by Mrs Deepthi, visited Mythri Bhavan, an old age home in Aralam. The students organized entertainment program and arranged lunch for the old-age people. A small amount was contributed by the students. Kudos to the team!!!


On the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5th), the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers cleaned the areas near Don Bosco Arts and Science College and also took initiative to clean the nearby areas of Angadikadavu river. The volunteers made 50 soak pits to harvest rain water near Angadikadavu. The program was coordinated by the NSS Programme Officers, Ms Jisha, faculty of English department and Mr Nithin Kuttan, Director of Physical Education department. 69 volunteers had participated in the program.


The Social Work Department completed the SIA of the Land to be acquired for Angamaly – Sabari Railway. The final reports in English and in Malayalam were handed over to the Revenue Department, Govt. of Kerala, on 26 March 2019. The report covers an area of 44.40.08 hectares of land belonging to Asamannoor, Rayamangalam, Vengoor West, Perumbavoor, Chelamattam and Koovappady villages of Kunnathunadu Taluk under Perumbavoor Division. As part of the process, public hearings were held at Thuruthy Sociey hall on 15 March, at Perumbavoor Town Hall on 16 March and at Grama Panchayath Hall, Asamannoor on 18 March. The study was carried out by the staff and students of the Department of Social Work along with other SIA experts. The SIA of the land notified for Sabari Railway under Muvattupuzha and Kothamangalam Taluks is also nearing completion.


DHANAK ’19, College Arts Fest of DBASC was conducted on 10th and 11th January 2019. The event was set to be started with the inaugural ceremony on 10th January 2019 by Ms. Niharika S. Mohan, cine actress. Mr. Jerome Jaison, College Union Chairman presided over the gathering during which Fr. Joy Nedumparambil (Director, BREADS) delivered the keynote address. Fr. Dr. Thomas K.O., Fr. Dr. Francis Karackat, Mr. Sarath Krishnan, Mrs. Rejisha C.K. and Mr. Melvin Charles addressed the college community. The newly done Conference Hall was inaugurated by Fr. Joy Nedumparambil. In the various on stage and off stage events that followed the students of the college participated with a spirit of healthy competition and companionship. At the close of the Arts Fest DEA (Department of English) came out champions while MAC (B.Sc. and BCA) secured the first runner up. PG Association carried the day in the Off Stage Events while DEA (Department of English) came out with flying colours in the On Stage Events.


Eight students from Don Bosco Arts & Science College are in the University tug-of-war team for the inter-university championship going to be held in Amritsar this week. Those selected for the men team are: Ebin Devasia (BA English), Amal Saju (BCom Computer Application), Adarsh Mathew (BCom Computer Application), and Bestin Sebastian (BSW). Those in the women team are: Amala CV (BCom Computer Application), Olivia (BA English), Anagha (BA English), and Lisna (MSW).


In the Kannur University Intercollegiate Best Physique Championship held at SN College, Kannur, Basel Boban from BBA (2018-2021 Batch) at Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu, secured second place in 70 kg category.
