A Stress Management Class for Kudumbashree women was conducted at the Ulikkal Panchayat, C.D.S Office on 15 November 2025 at 11:00 a.m., organised by the MSW first year students of Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Angadikadavu. The programme aimed to support women in understanding stress and learning practical methods to cope with daily challenges. The session was handled by Mrs. Glenda Joby, Counselling Consultant, who provided an engaging and informative class on the causes of stress, its emotional and physical effects, and healthy ways of coping.


The first-year MSW students of Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu, Department of Social Work, successfully organized a Free Hemoglobin Level Test Medical Camp in collaboration with Primary Health Centre (PHC), Angadikadavu, and Kudumbashree Ayyamkunnu Unit. The camp was conducted on 15 November 2025 (Saturday) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ayyamkunnu Grama Panchayat Hall. The primary objective of the camp was to create health awareness among the local community and to promote preventive health practices, particularly focusing on anemia detection. Hemoglobin testing is a crucial indicator of overall health, especially for women, children, and vulnerable groups who are at higher risk of nutritional deficiencies.


The Social Work Department of Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu, in collaboration with Kudumbashree Payam Unit (CDS–GRC), organized a Self-Defence Training Class exclusively for the Auxiliary Members of Payam Grama Panchayat. The programme was held on 14 November 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Panchayat Hall, Madathil. The programme was organised by First year MSW students. The session was led by Ms. Premalatha K.K, Senior Civil Police Officer, Muzhakkunnu Police Station. As an experienced officer, she delivered an impactful training that covered both theoretical and practical aspects of self-defence.


The Department of Social Work, Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu, in collaboration with the Peravoor Grama Panchayat, conducted an Awareness Class on Post-partum Depression and Parenting Skills. The programme was organised by the first year MSW students. The session handled by Ms. Neenu V V, the Community Facilitator was informative and well appreciated by the audience.


MSc Counseling Psychology students of Don Bosco Arts & Science College Angadikadavu visited five institutions - All India Institute of Speach and Hearing, JSS Hospital Mysuru, NIMHANS Bangalore, Louise Mount Hospital Wayanad and Peace Village Wayanad as part of their academic requirements


The dream of a mother who wanted the rain not to disturb her children's sleep came true yesterday. The shelter built by NSS volunteers from Don Bosco Arts and Science College became a haven for them. The key donation was made by Sunny Joseph MLA. The family was staying in a rented house with her sister and children. The young woman, who worked in a fancy shop, was not alone in her dream of owning a house. When her husband's death turned her life upside down, she struggled to pay for her children's education and household expenses. Dr. Joe Thomas, who conducts research on public health, donated five cents of land to build a house. This is the 12th Snehaveeda of NSS Units No. 47 and 72 at Don Bosco College, Angadikkadav. Dr. K.V. Sujith, Director, Student Services, Kannur University, was the chief guest. The gathering was addressed by Ayyankunnu Gram Panchayat President Kuryachan Paimpallikunnel, College Principal Rev. Dr. Francis Karakkat, College Manager Rev. Dr. Joy Ulattil, Snehaveed Construction Committee Chairman Shibo Augustine Kochuvelikkat, Dr. Joe Thomas, Snehaveed Coordinator K.J. Jose, College Administrator Fr. Roy Isaac, Vice Principals Fr. The Department of Social Work organized an Add-on Programme on *Project Management* for the III Semester MSW students from 25th to 27th September 2025. Dr. Lukose P. J., faculty member of the Department of Social Work, Bishop Choolaparambil Memorial College, Kottayam, served as the resource person for the programme. The sessions provided valuable insights into project planning, execution, and evaluation, equipping the students with practical knowledge and managerial skills relevant to the field of social work. The programme was well-received by the participants and contributed significantly to enhancing their professional competencies.


The College Union for the academic year 2025-26 was inaugurated on 17 September 2025 by renowned musician and singer Nawaf NSR. The programme was presided over by Fr. Dr. Francis Karakkat, Principal, who also administered the oath to the newly elected union members. The gathering was welcomed by Fr. Cinto, Vice Principal and Chief Union Advisor, and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Nandana M, College Magazine Editor. The event was felicitated by Fr. Roy Issac, Administrator, and Mr. Kevinson Kurian, Vice Principal. The Vision and Motto of the Union were explained by Union Chairman Alan K. A. and Vice Chairperson Akhila James. The inauguration was followed by vibrant cultural programmes organized by the Music Club and Dance Club.


DISBEE was organized at Don Bosco School Kolikadavu,Iritty on 17th September 2025. The event was held for the students of Don Bosco School, Kolikadavu, with the aim of enhancing their learning and writing skills,especially in testing the verbal skills. Through various rounds, students not only showcased their spelling powers but also engaged in creative sessions that encouraged critical thinking. The competition fostered an interactive environment where participants developed their language skills in a fun and challenging way. The event was entirely conducted by the college students, offering them an opportunity to enhance their leadership and organizational abilities.
