MERIT & COLLEGE DAY


EQUINOX - South Indian Management Fest conducted by Department of Management at Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu on 3rd and 4th February 2020


Comet 5, the fifth edition of national commerce fest which was organized on 21st and 22nd January 2020 was a huge success. C.V Jayachandran , the former president of chamber of commerce, Kannur inaugurated the function. Inaugurating the function he said “There are lot of opportunities for job seekers in Kerala. But all you have to do is to find out best one that suits your taste. It is not necessary to seek for jobs out of India”. 102 students from around 10 colleges participated in the two-day National fest. The concluding programme was inaugurated by Sujith, choreographer of different television programmes. The award night function was a mesmerising experience for the entire college.


National Commerce Fest 21st & 22nd January 2020


FANTASIA 2019-2020, arts festival of Don Bosco Arts and Science College, was held on 12th and 13th December, 2019. Fantasia 2K19 was inaugurated by Kollam Siraj, popular cine artist. The Fest was a huge success with the BA English Association (DEA) winning the championship title with 449 points. PG association became the first runner up with 383 points and the third position was bagged by B.Sc Maths and BCA combined association (MAC) with 290 points.


Kelotsav 2019-20, Sports festival of Don Bosco Arts and Science College was held on 22nd and 23rd of November, 2019. The fest was inaugurated by R Dilna, power lifting champion. The championship trophy was bagged by B.Sc Maths and BCA combined association (MAC) with 86 points. The second position was bagged by BA English association (DEA) with 54 points followed by BBA association with 41 points.


The college union of 2019-2020 took incharge on 19th November 2019. The programme was inaugurated by Neeraj George Baby, a Kerala man who had climbed Kilimanjaro in crutches and known for playing badminton and trekking in crutches. The logo presentation of the upcoming arts and sports day and official inauguration of the dance and music club was also held in the programme


Urvaram, two days residential training for NSS programme officers of Kannur University was organized at Don Bosco arts and Science college, on 12th and 13th of November 2019. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Gopinath Raveendran, Vice Chancellor of Kannur University. Plan and scheme of URVARAM, 2019 was made by Dr Priya Varghese, DSS of Kannur University. Classes were organized by various dignitaries and the camp ended on 13th of November, 2019


Spelling Bee is one of the oldest and most iconic competitions among school students. It enhances the vocabulary of students and ignites the thirst of reading. The Spelling Bee competition is open to High School and Higher Secondary School Students. Spelling Bee Competition is conducted orally or in writing or in a manner that is a combination of the two.


Two days residential training for the NSS Programme Officers of Kannur University on 12th and 13th of November 2019


Kannur University inter-collegiate chess tournament was held at Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Angadikadavu on 2nd and 3rd November, 2019. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Devadas, former National Chess player and head of Physics department, MG College Iritty. Brennen College, Thalassery bagged the championship under Men's category and Mary Matha College, Mananthavady became champions under Women's category.


Soyamol Thomas, scientist of ISRO, Trivandrum organized a spectacular class for the students in order to celebrate the space week which was organized from 4th to 10th October 2019. The class consisted of chat sessions and experience sharing. It turned into a best platform for students to know more about space.


Udyamam 2019, Rural Camp of MSW Year 1 batch, was held at Kunderi, near Peretta, from 19 to 28 September 2019. It was attended by 30 students and several members of the faculty. Sherly Alexander, President of Ulikkal Grama Panchayat, inaugurated the event. Mr Thomas Varghese, Kannur District Panchayat Member, inaugurated the concluding function in the presence of Fr Dr Francis Karackat, Principal, and Fr Dr Thomas Koonan, Manager, Don Bosco Arts and Science College, respectively. Painting of houses, cleaning of public roads, etc. were the main manual works the campers were engaged in. Forest Exploration and Household survey were other notable features of the camp. The cultural programme every evening had the active participation of the villagers. Working together and cooking their own food were unforgettable experiences of the camp.


In the interdepartmental Onam cultural program held on 3rd September 2019, the MCJ department won the championship with an extra ordinary performance. They were followed by B.Com Finance and Psychology departments with exquisite performances.
