Scintilla-17, the Arts Fest held on Friday and Saturday 20th and 21st January 2017, formally inaugurated by Asianet Munch Star Junior singer Aashima Manoj, was a big gala showcasing the lushness of talents in the campus, with the singers, musicians, dancers, actors, orators, writers, artists, painters, and all other extraordinary performers in all the departments on a thrill mode making it a carnival of cultural extravaganza, a feast to the eyes and ears. In the interdepartmental competitions performed simultaneously on stages, BA English Literature students bagged the overall championship scoring 501 points. The runner-up was for MCJ-MSW, with a score of 399. The third place was for BCom Computer Application (279). The fourth place was for BSc- BCA (215). BCom Cooperation secured 198 points, BBA 97 and BSW 95. MA English and MCom Finance students could not participate in the competitions because of their university semester examinations. “It was the best arts fest in the history of Don Bosco Arts & Science College in terms of quality of organization, professionalism, performance of students, practice and preparation, we-feeling and team spirit in all the departments, and discipline and decorum of audience, “said Fr. Dr. Francis Karackat, the Principal who has been serving this college in different capacities for 12 years. “The credit for its amazing success should go primarily to the Fest Staff Coordinator, Rajisha C.K., Union Staff Advisors, Bibin Antony and Biju John, to the College Union Arts Secretary Rasik K.V., to the Union Chairman Sabio Baby Joseph, to the Vice-Chairperson, Sandra Johnson, to the General Secretary Sebin V.S., and to all the other Union Leaders,” he added.
